Library Board of Trustees
The Library Board of Trustees are appointed by the Town of Angier Commissioners to be a liaison between the library and the board of commissioners. The Board of Trustees assist in formulating policies for the library. The Board delegates to the library director the responsibility of administering the library and all of its services.
The library director serves as the liaison between the town manager, town commissioners and the library board of trustees and the library staff. The library director is responsible for determining the needs of the library public by regularly undertaking a planning process to set goals and objectives.
The board should assist in the preparation of the budget. The board periodically reviews and adopts library policies and makes recommendations regarding staff to the Board of Commissioners.
The Board of Trustees meet quarterly.
Applications for three (3) seats on the Library Board will be accepted until October 30, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. with three-year terms beginning January 1, 2010. The applications are available at the Library or Town Hall. For more information, contact Town Clerk Joyce Valley at 919-639-2071. |
