A public hearing will be held by the Town of Angier Board of Commissioners in the Board Meeting Room, in the Town of Angier Municipal Building, 28 N. Raleigh St., Angier, NC at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. This will be the first of two public hearings prior to adoption of the updated Town of Angier Code of Ordinances. The “Code” has been re-codified for the purpose of revisions and updating ordinances previously adopted by the Angier Board of Commissioners. The purpose of this hearing is to allow comments from the citizens of the Town of Angier regarding this updated “Code”. Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 160-77, amendments to the Town Code of Ordinances should be adopted and issued annually unless no additions to or modifications of the code have been adopted by the board during the year. The Town of Angier Code of Ordinances has not been re-codified in its entirety since 1982. A copy of the Angier Code of Ordinances may be viewed in the Town Clerk’s Office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.; however, copies are not available for the public until adoption of the entire Code. Prior to adoption, minor changes may be incorporated and upon adoption, the “Code” will be available online on the Town’s website: www.angier.org For specific questions regarding the “Code”, please contact Town Clerk Joyce Valley at 919-639-2071. This DOES NOT include the Angier Zoning Ordinance or Draft Unified Development Ordinance, which will be considered by the Town Board at a future meeting.

There will be a joint meeting of the Angier Town Board and Angier Planning Board at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Angier Municipal Building for the purspose of hearing public comment and discussion of the Draft Unified Development Ordinance. Citizens are encouraged to attend this meeting.

Town of Angier Utility Rate Increase:

Water and Sewer rates are evaluated on an annual basis to assure that projected revenues offset the cost of owning and operating the system. The Town has not increased these rates since 2006; however, based on our current assessment, increases will be required this budget year for both water and sewer. The revenues from these rates cover the cost of debt service for previous and current system improvements as well as the operation and maintenance of the system. The rates are as follows:

2009-2010 Rate Schedule
