Patron Self-Registration Instructions

  1. Patrons will need to visit https://harnett.nccardinal.org/eg/opac/register to access the registration form. Patrons can also go to the Main Library’s webpage (www.harnett.org/library), click on the “About” link at the top, click on “COVID-19,” and scroll down to the “Online Library Card Registration” section to access the registration form.
  2. Patrons will need to pick their home library from the “Home Library” dropdown menu (ANGIER), and then fill out the rest of the form. Patrons do NOT have to fill out the “Requested Username” field – we will change that to match their library card number when their registration has been processed. Please include the best contact phone number as well as email if one is available.
  3. After they have finished filling out the form, patrons can click the “Submit” button. A message will appear on the next screen that says “Pre-registration successful! Please visit your local library in person to complete your registration. Bring picture ID and proof of local address.”
  4. Patrons will then be contacted by library staff with their card number that can be used to place books on hold, utilize Libby, and all other free resources.

Physical cards will be held at the home library until we have reopened to the public.
