  • Full Time Patrol Officer - Open Until Filled
    Starting Salary is  $46,000.00
    To perform routine, non-routine and emergency law enforcement work including patrolling, responding to service calls and performing investigations on minor misdemeanor offenses. An Officer in this class performs responsible protective service work involving a variety of general or support duty police assignments as a member of the Town of Angier's Police Department. Work includes; routine patrols, traffic accident and criminal investigations, police vehicle maintenance, serving criminal papers, traffic law enforcement, and responding to domestic disputes. The officer is subject  to the usual hazards of law enforcement including the potential for physical harm. Work is performed under the immediate supervision of the Patrol Corporal and is evaluated for effectiveness, visibility, compliance with standards, public support, and attainment of performance objectives.
     

     

  • Utility Maintenance Worker - Open Until Filled
    Starting Salary is  $41,420.29
    An employee in this class performs varied semi-skilled and skill work including operating mowers, weed-eaters and other equipment and implements to trim, clear and maintain rights-of-way along town streets and roads; clearing storm debris; fine and rough carpentry, plumbing, painting, basic electrical work, and semi-skilled equipment operation and grounds maintenance; installing and repairing water meters, water and sewer lines and street signs; reading water meters, assisting with water taps; servicing and maintaining equipment; asphalt repair and other street maintenance and related work.  Work is performed under the general supervision of the Public Works Supervisor and is reviewed for lasting quality, effectiveness, appearance and functionality through observation, discussion, inspection and feedback from citizens.

  • Planner I - Open Until Filled
    Starting Salary is  $44,969.60
    An employee in this position performs entry-level professional planning work in support of current planning/development projects and long-range planning projects for the Planning Department of Town of Angier.  Work includes tasks such as: conducting technical review of land use and conditional use permit applications; reviewing rezoning petitions and ordinance amendments; reviewing major and minor subdivision plats, manufactured home park plans, and site plans for commercial and industrial projects and conditional use; approving those plats and plans; assisting with preparation of agendas and information packets for Board of Adjustment and Planning Board; preparing technical site reports; drafting staff recommendations for cases or petitions; performing planning work projects;  and providing information to the Development Review Board. Work is performed under general supervision of the Planning Director and is evaluated through periodic conferences and feedback from the staff.
