Part Time Patrol Officer - Open Until Filled
Starting Salary is  $20.05/hr
To perform routine, non-routine and emergency law enforcement work including patrolling, responding to service calls and performing investigations on minor misdemeanor offenses. An Officer in this class performs responsible protective service work involving a variety of general or support duty police assignments as a member of the Town of Angier's Police Department. Work includes; routine patrols, traffic accident and criminal investigations, police vehicle maintenance, serving criminal papers, traffic law enforcement, and responding to domestic disputes. The officer is subject  to the usual hazards of law enforcement including the potential for physical harm. Work is performed under the immediate supervision of the Patrol Corporal and is evaluated for effectiveness, visibility, compliance with standards, public support, and attainment of performance objectives.
 
 

Utility Maintenance Worker - Open Until Filled Starting Salary is  $42,041.59

Utility Maintenance Worker to assist the Public Works Department. Duties include general water/sewer maintenance, assisting with street maintenance, and debris removal.  Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and a valid North Carolina Driver License and would be required to obtain a North Carolina Commercial Driver License (CDL) within six months of hire. Some knowledge of equipment is preferred. Applicants should be willing to obtain certifications in various water/sewer related areas. 

Utility Maintenance Worker Part Time - Open Until Filled Starting Salary is  $15/hr.

Utility Maintenance Worker to assist the Public Works Department. Level II Chief Building Inspector - Open Until Filled Starting Salary is  $74,000

An employee in this class specializes in all trades.  Work involves inspecting residential and commercial construction, renovations, mobile home setup, additions and existing buildings to certify that work, materials and methods follow applicable Federal, State, and local codes. The employee has the responsibility for securing compliance with regulations when violations are found. Considerable tact, courtesy and firmness are required as the employee works independently in the field and has constant contact with contractors, property owners and the general public. Performs work during emergency/disaster situations. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Planning Director and is reviewed for proper interpretation and enforcement of applicable laws and code requirements.  Employee will supervise Level I Trainee.  

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalency;
  • Three (3) years of experience in at least one of the specified building trades (building/electrical/plumbing/gas/heating) area(s);
  • Possession of at least a Level II State Inspection Certification in the specified building trades area;
  • A valid North Carolina Driver License;
  • Employees in this class also are required to obtain a Level III State Inspection Certification in the same area of specialization within three years after appointment as a Building Inspector.
